Birth Help Classes

Birth Help offers a Natural Birth Series, Comfort Measures Class and Private Classes.  When possible, it is best to participate in our Natural Birth Series followed by Comfort Measures Class. Birth Help primarily offers in-person participation for Natural Birth Series. Virtual series are offered several times per year and are convenient for those living outside the Baton Rouge area or who prefer to participate in the comfort of their own home. Which classes should I take?

Natural Birth Series offers foundational information for understanding labor and birth, natural childbirth, preparing for labor pain, pain management, the partner's role, and creating your best birth. $280

Comfort Measures helps women and their partners learn and practice a variety of coping techniques, comfort measures and practice hands-on techniques. $70

Private Class sessions allow for individualized childbirth education. They are a great option for those who have previously completed a group class and simply need a refresher course, need more time on a topic or simply can’t fit a group class into their busy schedule. Some clients also find the nature of the individual class better suits their needs. $300

When should I register?

Birth Help has been offering classes in Baton Rouge since 1991 and has an excellent reputation for quality instruction, so early registration (around 18-20 weeks) is recommended for all classes.  Space is limited to allow personal interaction and discussions, and often classes fill in advance.  

Most couples schedule classes that end one to three months before their baby’s due date to allow time for processing what they've learned, practicing comfort measures, additional research, reading, and creating their birth plan.

Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy Rescheduling A Class - Class participants must request rescheduling of classes by email using the Contact form. A rescheduling fee (NCB $40, CM $25, Private $40), must be paid in order to reschedule a class or series within 14 days before the beginning date of any class. Rescheduling a class is not guaranteed and depends on availability.

Cancellation - Class members must request a cancellation by email using the Contact form. The class fee, less an administrative fee (NCB $40, CM $25, Private $40), will be refunded until 14 days before the beginning date of any class. No refunds will be issued within 14 days of the start date.
