Baton Rouge's Choice For The Most Experienced In Childbirth Education And Doula Services
GROUP CHILDBIRTH CLASSES
Birth Help offers group childbirth classes limited to 8 couples to allow for discussion and personal attention. Experienced instructors (who are also practicing doulas) offer practical information about natural childbirth and assist couples with working toward their personal birth goals.
Birth Help classes are especially helpful for women interested in natural childbirth; however, the information is valuable for all birth experiences. These classes are unique in Baton Rouge because they are taught by experienced doulas who regularly attend births at local hospitals.
It is best to register early for classes in order to participate in childbirth classes during your 6th or 7th month, but late registrations are accepted if there are openings.
Class Topics Include:
- your pregnant body
- when to call your doctor
- stages and phases of labor
- relaxation, visualization, and breathing techniques
- medical procedures/interventions
- cesarean section
- birth preferences (birth plan)
- comfort measures & positions for labor and birth
- understanding childbirth pain
- medication for labor and birth
- partner support
- labor and birth videos
Group Class Registration
The
class fee is $150 (for mom and her partner) and can be paid in full
before the class begins or in two payments, one before the class begins
and one at the first class. Some discounts are available, so please mention if you need one when you call or email for
registration information.
Along with your payment, complete your registration form and email to doula@birthhelp.com. A confirmation email will be sent with more information about the series you will attend.

GROUP CHILDBIRTH CLASS SCHEDULE
Classes
are held in the Ochsner Physician Building, 9001 Summa Avenue, on the campus of the
Baton Rouge General Health Center on Bluebonnet, across from Mall of
Louisiana. The childbirth series is taught in three sessions, each
beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 1:00 p.m. OR four sessions on a weeknight beginning at 6 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m.
CHILDBIRTH SERIES BEGIN ON:
MARCH 10. THE MAKEUP CLASS, IF NEEDED, WILL MEET ON MARCH 17.
9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
SATURDAY, APRIL 14: CLASSES MEET APRIL 14, APRIL 21, AND MAY 5. THE MAKEUP CLASS, IF NEEDED, WILL MEET ON MAY 12. 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
(Class will NOT meet on April 28.)
SATURDAY, JUNE 2: CLASSES MEET JUNE 2, JUNE 9, AND JUNE 16. THE MAKEUP CLASS, IF NEEDED, WILL MEET ON JUNE 23. 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
SATURDAY, JULY 14: CLASSES JULY 14, JULY 21, AND JULY 28. THE MAKEUP CLASS, IF NEEDED, WILL MEET ON AUGUST 4. 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
SATURDAY, AUGUST 18: CLASSES MEET AUGUST 18, AUGUST 25, AND
SEPTEMBER 1. THE MAKEUP CLASS, IF NEEDED, WILL MEET ON SEPTEMBER 8. 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
REFUND POLICY:
The class fee, less a $25 administrative fee, will be issued until 10 days before a childbirth class is scheduled to begin. Refund requests must be in writing via email.
