Across all cultures and time women have looked to other women for inf
ormation, encouragement, and support during pregnancy and birth.
Exceptional Birthing, co-sponsored by Red Shoes and facilitated by Birth Help doulas, offers a place where today’s women share and explore concepts, philosophies, and techniques supporting natural childbirth. We’ll discuss physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of birthing along with resources for achieving your birth goals.
Women who have had or attempted natural childbirth, as well as pregnant women interested in childbirth and nursing babies are welcome.
Group meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at Red Shoes on Government Street from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. There is no fee, but please register by calling Red Shoes 225.338.1120 or email redshoes@bellsouth.net.

Doulas and Comfort Measures for Labor: NO FEE
What is a doula? How can a doula help me and my partner to have a better birth experience? How can I be more comfortable during labor? This class focuses on a doula’s role, benefits of working with a doula, creating a positive birth environment, positions for labor and hands-on comfort measures.

Strong Mamas: $12 per class or class pass ($60 for 6 classes or $110 for 12 classes)
Pregnancy exercise class designed to focus on preparing your body for the changes of pregnancy, labor and delivery. This cardio and strength training routine will help improve energy level, attitude and self image. Physician release required.
Baby Steps: $12 per class or class pass ($60 for 6 classes or $110 for 12 classes)
This class provides light exercise for moms to do with their babies. The class focuses on strengthening the abdomen, pelvic floor, back and legs. Physician release required less than six weeks postpartum.
