Ways to use a knobby ball:
Roll the ball around the mother's lower back, or any part of her body where she would like to be massaged.
Add more pressure for more intense massage.Have the mother lean against a wall; place the ball at her lower back where she would like pressure. Let the mother move to provide the amount and type of pressure she would like.
Have the mother get in a hands and knees position. Use the knobby ball to provide pressure on her lower back.
Roll the ball up and down the mother's lower back.
Encourage mom to hold the knobby ball with one or both hands and gently squeeze during contractions.
